Danny Jaskowak informal writing #2
10 goals/rules for writing
1. I will be creative and use imagery in my writing so that my writing will be like a waterfall, spewing out knowledge and awesomeness.
2. I will develop my ideas fully in my writing. I have trouble with making sure that my ideas are fully developed so this is something I need to work on.
3. I will work on using a variety of different sentences. This could prove to be difficult, but I am up for the challenge. I’ll get it.
4. I will work on writing and speaking grammatically correct. This may be the hardest part. I have a tendency to write like I talk, which in itself isn’t a bad thing, but I do have a few vernacular terms that I use.
5. I will have jokes in my writing, however elaborate or simple.
6. I will improve my vocabulary, so that I can understand teachers when they use big words. My archive of foreign words lacks any kind of depth. I need assistance in improving my verbiage.
7. I will write with conviction! We all may die out there, but the world needs more writers. So I ask you all, will you just run away and let them take what we hold dear? They may take our lives, but they will never take our FREEDOM!!! (William Wallace).
8. I will not write sarcastically and I will not enjoy doing it.
9. I will fully explain what I mean and not just assume readers know what I am talking about. I have the tendency to assume that readers think the way I do, and therefore know the same things as I do, which isn’t the case most of the time. I often write in a certain way that I would understand, but someone who isn’t familiar with the terminology or with the topic would not understand.
10. I will have fun with my writing. I will write about something that I want to (within certain parameters if needed) and I will be unique, ridiculous and clever, so that hopefully whoever is unfortunate enough to come across my work, will at least smile while they are reading.
